Neo-liberalism, Disaster Capitalism, and the Assault on the Black Nation

This workshop will critically examine 40 years of global economic transformation and its impact on the Black working class in the US. It will specifically examine the rise of neo-liberalism as an ideology and program, the centrality of disaster capitalism as a fundamental tactic of this program, the utilization of the Gulf Coast catastrophe as a means to unleash the totality of this program in the US, and the interrelation of this program with white supremacy, national oppression, and patriarchy.
